One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest
So today was a busy day of running errands, taking Mia to the park, etc. Around 5pm I finally sat down to feed her and propped my feet up on the coffee table.
Well, I was wearing 2 different sneakers. Yep. One New Balance, one Puma. What the? I walked around all day like that, too wrapped up in babyness to even notice. Probably explains the confused look some shot me at the store.
I also cut the crap out of my finger while trying to peel apples for homemade applesauce. I was paying more attention to Mia in her bouncy than to where the knife was headed. It's going to be a long 18 years.

Feeling Better
I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things - I worked out today! Pete and I joined Lifestyles. After dropping the 'lil monkey off with Grandpa and Grandpa earlier this afternoon I hit up the gym in Hyde Park, which felt like I was working out at MacDoody's/The Dubliner. Meatheads galore. Oh well. But anyway, it felt great to hop on some of the machines and sweat. I'm avoiding spinning and pilates (for now) until the tailbone settles down. Gotta lose this baby weight and then some!

Getting Better
Just a quick note before bedtime - things around here are slowly but surely getting much better. Mia has been sleeping 6 - 8 hour stretches and getting more and more comfortable going on little daily adventures. Last weekend we cruised around Ybor (by day), checking out the Latin Festival, Octoberfest and a little of the USF game at a bar and grill. She was a rock star. Sunday she cheered on the Bucs with Uncle Corey. I guess for now she doesn't understand the not-so-nice things Corey calls the refs/other team, but next season is going to be a bit of a problem.
Today we tried Target for a second time together. First time was a disaster. This time, better. I'm getting pretty good at doing things super quickly. Get in and get out. I no longer linger looking for that perfect impulse buy. My kid doesn't let me, which hey is great because the Nuffers don't have impulse buys in their budget anymore.
Friday we are going to our first Mommy and Me class at Gymboree. Woo boy. Never thought I'd see the day - I'm actually looking forward to it. I hear we get to play with flashlights. I hope they let me take pics!

Grandma and Grandpa Weekend
Mia had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa Nuffer this past weekend. We went for ice cream down at Channelside, sushi at Jackson's, breakfast at La Creperia in Ybor, as well as cheered on the Bucs with a little BBQ at our place. Posted by Marisa at 2:52 PM 0 comments

Mia Celebrates Her 2 Month Birthday...
...with a round of shots! Not Jose Cuervo, but immunizations (Mommy may need some tequila though after this doctor's appointment).
It was so sad. I cried a teeny little bit when she got the vaccinations. I HATE needles. It's not easy watching your baby's cute, chubby little thighs getting stabbed over and over. On the plus side, looks like Mia's immune system is good to go. She is asleep on my chest now. We learned today she IS indeed colicky. Nothing much we can do about it (tequila) but pray she grows out of it soon, which she should. Other than that, Mia looks very healthy and is developing wonderfully. She is 23-1/2"L (WOW) and 11lbs.
Last weekend was full of fun - we had a lovely visit from Grandma and Grandpa Nuffer, went on many adventures and took lots of neat pictures. I'll post those soon. It was great to see Lori and David. We are sad to see them go, but very much looking forward to meeting up again in May.
Hope everyone is having a good week! Go Bucs. Go Bulls.
