'Tis the Season

Looks like the Caribbean is hunkering down. Glad this storm is steering clear of Florida. Corey is going on another cruise to Cozumel and Belize in 2 weeks. Pete and I think they'll be handing passengers shovels instead of snorkels. As long as there is plenty of tequilla to go around, no one will care.

Mia update - she's doing great! Yesterday she met her Aunt Mirta, Uncle Peter and cuz Lucci. She thinks they are the best. Owen and Lail just left a minute ago, so many new friends!

We learned on Wednesday that our little lady has already gained back her birth weight, plus an ounce. She is so cute, getting small fat rolls on her arms and legs. After midnight she sometimes turns into a little gremlin. We're working on reversing her day/night schedule so Pete and I can get some sleep. Daddy goes back to work on Monday. Well, I'll try to post more pics this weekend. She has already grown out of a few onesies, but even some of the newborn sizes are still too big on her. She is changing each and everyday and looking more and more like Daddy.

Mia says hello

Hi to my family and friends! I am very much enjoying life right now. My days and nights are a little mixed up - I prefer to sleep all day and stay awake more at night, but mommy and daddy are trying to fix that. They feed me every 3 hours. Sometimes I gulp everything down and sometimes I take my time, but that's okay. I really don't like to be burped, I'm hungry! But I guess I have this acid reflux so I have to be careful. Sometimes I spit up and nearly give my daddy a heart attack and mommy has to calm him down.

I am pretty sleepy - it's exhausting being a tiny human! I am looking forward to growing more each and every day. Soon enough I'll be able to chase my furry friends all around. Right now they just look at me and wonder what the heck I cry sometimes. Wait until I am tossing them my dinner from the high chair! We are all going to be best of friends.

There are certain things I don't like. Mommy and daddy change my diaper a lot and ooooh man that makes me mad!!! And I don't like being cleaned or switching into a new onesie. I'd much rather be swaddled and cuddled. The constipation gets me cranky too. Sometimes I'll wait until mom and dad are in the middle of a diaper change to go pee pee or poo poo. It's funny to see them scramble around. All week daddy had to take me to the hospital to get my heels pricked for jaundice and I REALLY couldn't stand it. Luckily my numbers dropped and I don't have to do that anymore. Goodbye creamsicle!

Of course there are certain things that I love. Some of my favorite moments are spent resting on mommy's chest against her heartbeat, and on daddy's lap listening to jazz music. Daddy says with my long fingers I am going to be a concert pianist. I like that idea. And mommy says I am going to travel all over the world. I like that idea too. I LOVE my bouncy seat! And my collection of binkies. I haven't grown too attached to them yet, but they are good to have around.

This week I have had many visitors. People love to hold me and tell me how cute I am. So far I have seen a lot of my uncle Corey, aunt Liz, my Grandpa Armando and Grandma Maria, Abuelo and Abuela, Aunt Keri and Uncle Jaime and also my amigos Zach, Troy, Owen, Procter, Lindsey, Ryan, Dillon, Erica and Trevor. So many people to remember!
